PLEASE HELP

I have a set of marked Moriyama handed painted what I think are vases but you can not open them. They have brass acorn on the top and they set on a ornate square base. The painting is of a woman in a pink dress and a guy playing a guitar. They have a long screw that goes all the way through them when you unscrew the top they come apart in section. Under the lid is stamped JAPAN in red under the bottom there is a stamp of a red flower basket with MORIYAMA over the top of it and JAPAN under it. They stand about 12 inches tall.

Hi Deanna,

Moriyama Pottery was established in 1911 by Hidekichi Nakamura.  There are still four studios operating, so your piece was made sometime between 1911 and today.  You read more about the Moriyama maker here:

I would estimate the value of your Moriyama pottery to be around $50-75 dollars a piece.
